BOSCO GIRL

I was part of the NYC school desegregation in the 1960s. This is a short about how it went for this young Black girl.

FLAMETHROWER

This is a CNF work where I used my mother's journals and oral stories to write this memoir-driven essay of her young years in Pittsburgh. After the death of her father in a coal mine the family of seven was plunged into poverty. The battle was to keep the family together and moving forward to high school graduation in the 1930s. And they all graduated with honors.

LITTLE TREES

A young man in the throes of mourning the passing of his grandparents in a fire, is guided by their spirits. He's about to blow a relationship with a terrific woman until Pops and Nana pop in to offer guidance.
